It's that time of year!
The interest meeting for the 2024-25 AHS Marching Band Season will be on April 17th, 2024 at 6 pm. Here, we will go over information about the marching band, Spring rehearsal dates, and reveal our show for the season! If you are interested in leadership, there will be a BLT interest meeting following the full band meeting! It is that time of year where our Music Boosters Organization wants to recognize the hard work and dedication of our seniors to the music program. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship from our Music Boosters, please carefully read the application requirements and instructions and complete the form no later than April 17, 2024.

The AHS Music Department is rolling out a fundraiser for students to earn money toward their Spring Trip cost. Students have the opportunity to go to local businesses and ask them to be a corporate sponsor for the AHS Music Department. If the business pays to be a sponsor, they will receive ad space in our 3 digital spring programs that will be seen by hundreds of community members and will be listed and linked on our website. The student will get 50% of the cost of the sponsorship directly toward their trip. We are keeping track of this on the google form that the business fills out so please make sure the business has your name.
We will work to create a form letter for students, but a personalized and thoughtful request from the student will go much futher and we encourage students to reach out in person and follow up via email. Businesses are much more likely to become a sponsor with a personalized, in-person connection. Here is the form to share with the potential corporate sponsors: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScHzZnMkZ1JSnwxqPXcZTepUngY2b9zdPJLqe6YJMsZ2rj24w/viewform?usp=sf_linkLinks to an external site. Feel free to email me with questions. Ms. Freel We currently have 86 students who have committed in writing to our Orlando Spring Trip. The next step is submitting your payment of $50.00 by Thursday, December 21 11:59pm. If you did not submit a Google Form, but you would still like to go on the trip, you may reserve your spot by making the $50 payment. We are hoping for 100 students still, but we must have at least 85 people submit the payment in order for the trip to run.
Online Registration Instructions: • Go to www.musictravel.com • Upper Right - Click the “Trip Login” link • Select “Register a New User” • Fill out contact information • Select “Register a Traveler” • Enter trip number 2404-11-78 • Select “Make a Payment” to Pay Deposit Please Note... • Deposit must be paid to secure spot. As of the sending of this message, we are up to 44 trip participant commitments. We need to reach 85 students in order for the trip to run. The latest we can really make that call is end of day Monday as families need to pay the $50 non-refundable airfare fee before we leave for winter break.
The music department has applied for a couple of individual fundraisers that would go toward students' individual trip accounts including selling Pretzel Rods in person (January), selling Mixed Bags online (February), and obtaining Corporate Sponsors (Jan-March). We are also looking into a group pledge page fundraiser as an individual fundraiser. We are trying to ensure that with this fundraiser, students are receiving the maximum amount possible. Music Boosters has been and will continue to discuss group fundraisers to offset the total cost of the trip for students. We would love your input at the next Music Boosters meeting on Thursday, January 11, 2024 @ 7-8pm in the choir room. The more parents we have to help, the more we can do.
