The Atholton Band is a dynamic and artistic group of students participating in concert, percussion, jazz, and marching ensembles. Persevering as a team through musical challenges, and pushing themselves to achieve at a high level, students form bonds and lifelong friendships that positively affect their lives beyond the stage.

The Atholton Bands are under the direction of Eric Posner and throughout the year work with many music staff, guest conductors, sectional coaches, and clinicians. Each year the bands welcome clinicians from the U.S. Army Field Band, Monumental Brass Quintet, Howard County Community College, and various universities.

The Atholton Wind Ensemble has performed at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival in both 2011 and 2016. In 2014 the entire Atholton Band Program was honored to be one of eight national finalists for the National Band Association's Program of Excellence Blue Ribbon Award.
