2017 Orioles Season!
The Music department typically spends approximately $80,000 a year to support band, orchestra, and choir - both routine operating costs and major purchases/instrument repairs. Approximately $55,000 of that comes from money raised by the Boosters each year. Our largest fundraiser involves running multiple hotdog stands and beer portables for the Orioles' concessionaire throughout the baseball season. This fundraiser usually raises more than half.
Our goal this year is to raise $20,000 to fund an innovative new program. This program will provide small group instruction by professional voice/music clinicians across all our ensembles in choir, orchestra, and band.
We are one of a handful of music booster groups in Howard County that support not just the band, but the choirs and orchestras, as well. Our music department has a state-of-the-art music suite and a robust fundraising effort, in comparison to other schools. We are a school that is looked to as an example of how to do things right
